Abstract
Clearly, there is a need to reflect on how sustainability should be incorporated into PSA education, as future public professionals must possess not only technical competencies,
but also a critical understanding of how accounting can serve sustainability goals.
This debate article explores two competing approaches to achieving this aim:
. The development of a dedicated course on sustainability accounting in the public sector.
. The embedding of sustainability topics within existing PSA courses.
